Funding options for in-home aged care
The two primary ways that people pay for aged care assistance at home is by using a Home Care Package or by paying for care service privately. Here is what you need to know about each one at a glance:
Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages provide you with a certain amount of funding, which is used to pay for your in-home care services. The aim of the programme is to help senior Australians continue living in their own homes; so if you need assistance to safely live at home, you may be eligible for a Home Care Package.

Private funding
Private funding is very simple; you just pay for the care services you receive. All of our services are charged at an hourly rate. Many clients use private funding while they are waiting for a Home Care Package to be allocated to them or to ‘top up’ their package with additional care services.
You can also use the equity in your home as a source of income for private funding; this is called a home equity release.
