Employee Spotlight: Aine Watanabe

Introducing Aine Watanabe, who has recently joined Absolute Care & Health as our new Clinical Coordinator. With a passion for helping others and a keen eye for detail, Aine has quickly become an integral part of our team. Her dedication to ensuring that each client receives timely and appropriate care reflects her commitment to excellence and compassion in her role.

As a Clinical Coordinator, Aine serves as the essential point of contact for nurses, clients and external care providers, ensuring that every client receives the care they need when they need it. Her role involves creating weekly rosters for the nurses, accommodating clients across the whole of Melbourne, and addressing urgent matters and necessary changes to ensure seamless operations.

Aine says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her job is its challenging nature. It not only allows her to help people but also contributes to her professional growth. The ability to pay close attention to crucial health-related details is vital in her role, and she is grateful for the trust and responsibility placed in her.

Currently, Aine finds excitement in the daily variety her job offers. Each day presents a new roster and a unique mix of nurses and clients across Melbourne. This constant change requires her to familiarise herself with the map of Melbourne, which she also enjoys exploring in her free time.

A memorable case that stands out for Aine involved assisting a client over the phone who required urgent medical help and had specific cultural care needs. By empathising with the client and coordinating with the limited number of suitable nurses, she ensured the client received the necessary care within an hour, from someone they felt comfortable with. This experience underscored the importance of understanding and addressing individual needs.

Aine finds working at Absolute is both challenging and rewarding. What makes Absolute unique is the compassion, open-mindedness, and genuine care that everyone shows towards clients and fellow team members.

She particularly appreciates the diverse team at Absolute, where people from various cultural backgrounds come together with a shared goal of helping those in need of care. The company value of going “Above & Beyond” for their clients resonates deeply with her, and she is wholeheartedly committed to it.

“A challenging yet rewarding job within a diverse, genuinely caring team of people.” – Aine Watanabe

In her personal time, she is an “old soul” who enjoys reading, solving crosswords, engaging in arts and crafts, and listening to music from her grandma’s generation. She also loves exploring different food and dessert places. One of her proudest accomplishments is overcoming initial struggles with English and fitting in with other Australians. Through hard work, she excelled in VCE and gained valuable work experiences, including in aged care.

Although she has only been with Absolute for a few months, she has already challenged herself by handling a hugely varied range of phone inquiries and improving her multitasking skills. She believes that everyone should learn the skill of physical note-taking and using checklists, as it helps catch details that might otherwise be missed.

For those considering a career in the healthcare and support industry, her advice is simple: “Don’t hesitate. There are people out there who need someone just like you!”

Aine’s dedication, compassion, and attention to detail make her a remarkable addition to the Absolute Care & Health team. We are excited to see how she continues to grow and contribute to our mission of providing exceptional care to those in need. Welcome aboard, Aine!
