Frequently asked questions
Support at Home is a government-funded program that helps older Australians access the services, equipment and home modifications they need to stay healthy, active and independent at home. It replaces the old Home Care Packages program.
No. You're free to cancel your Care Agreement and leave us whenever you want by providing 14 days' notice. We don't charge any exit fees and we'll even support you to transition to a new provider if you choose to leave.
Yes. Absolute Care & Health directly employs all our carers and nurses. We invest heavily in ongoing training and development to ensure our team consistently meets and exceeds industry standards. No outsourcing, ever.
Once you've decided to receive care with us, we'll generally book your care management assessment and begin services within 7 days.
We do our best to provide you with a consistent carer so you can build a comfortable relationship. We also create a small team of backup carers who you'll get to know, so if your regular carer is on leave, you'll always have a familiar face.
You'll have a dedicated Care Partner (a Registered Nurse) who develops your care plan with you, organises your services, selects the right carers and stays in regular contact to make sure everything is working. If your needs change, they'll adjust your plan accordingly.
Switching providers is easier than most people think. We'll guide you through every step from notifying your current provider to setting up your new care plan with us. Your unspent funds transfer with you and your funding cannot be taken away because you switch.
